Designed for high‑throughput retail, ecommerce, and parcel operations, TrewTouch focuses on improving accuracy and control in mixed item sortation environments where performance, consistency and throughput are critical.

“As throughput increases, control becomes critical,” said Drew Herchenbach, Senior Product Manager at Trew responsible for the TrewSort platform. “With TrewTouch, we focused on enabling higher sortation rates by reducing impact and smoothing acceleration during diverts so products behave more predictably. The result is greater accuracy, consistency, and a broader range of conveyable cartons, polybags, parcels, and products.”
The design responds to growing demand for accurate, high‑throughput sortation capable of handling a wide range of materials. By providing controlled, smooth acceleration during divert, TrewTouch reduces product impact and the likelihood of mis‑diverts. The latest updates to TrewSort expand the platform’s performance range for demanding applications, with configurations capable of operating at speeds up to 750 feet per minute and single sorter lengths up to 800 feet, supporting top‑tier throughput while maintaining accuracy and control.
TrewTouch will be included in Trew’s MODEX demonstration, which is designed to provide educational context around the factors that influence sortation performance in high‑throughput environments. In addition to highlighting the TrewTouch product handling approach, the demonstration will outline eight key elements that contribute to successful sortation, offering insight into how accuracy, control, and consistency are achieved as throughput increases.
